Hi!

I'm Maddi O'Connell.

Performer.
Stage manager.
Theatre professional.

Welcome!

My name is Maddi (they/he), and I'm based in Cincinnati, Ohio! I received my BFA in Acting and minor in Music from Baldwin Wallace University, and I currently work at Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati on their resident Stage Management team.

After being immersed in theatre and music as a toddler, I have developed a deep, fiery passion for storytelling. I am a theatre artist whose perspective is based in community change and impact and making differences in others' lives through the performing arts. I want to share the beauty, comedy, and tragedy of humanity with audiences of all ages while concurrently creating experiences to move them emotionally and foster dialogue around difficult topics. My ultimate end goal is to be a multi-disciplinary artist who can continue to touch others with my vibrant love for this art form that I believe is the most effective agent for change.

Take a look around and get to know me! Thank you for stopping by!

Regional Premiere!
Fourteen Funerals by Eric Pfeffinger
Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati
Directed by Torie Wiggins

What would you do if you were the last-standing family member to eulogize fourteen distant relatives who died in a freak accident? Sienna, a classic big-city Chicago girl, is reckoned with her small-town past when she meets funeral director Millie in rural Indiana. This hilarious new comedy is the perfect storm of worlds colliding and unexpected connection. This is a special play that you certainly don't want to miss.

From March 21st to April 12th, I am the Assistant Stage Manager
under Production Stage Manager Lexi Muller.

Regional Premiere!
The House on Watch Hill by Richard Oberacker & Robert Taylor
Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati
Directed by D. Lynn Meyers & Dee Anne Bryll

Based on a true story, it's a classic hot, humid Cincinnati summer in 1984—the final months of freedom before high school. After hearing that Kings Island is looking for a new haunted attraction designer, an ambitious, rag-tag group of teenagers come together to create the best haunted house ever to see if they can fit the bill.
From the writers of the Tony Award-winning musical Bandstand, this brand-new show with a rocking '80s-inspired soundtrack is full of love and loss, life-changing friendships, severed limbs, fun references, and of course, disco balls.

From May 9th to the 31st, I am the 2nd Assistant Stage Manager
under Production Stage Manager Michele Kay and Assistant Stage Manager Lexi Muller.
