About Me.
A summa cum laude graduate of Baldwin Wallace University with a BFA in Acting and minor in Music, Maddi's love for the arts began when their mother enrolled them in music classes when they were two and ballet classes when they were three. Their professional career took off at the age of eight when they performed as a Baby Mouse in Cincinnati Ballet's The Nutcracker and as a Crown Carrier in their production of Cinderella. The next year, he was cast as an Elf in Holiday Follies 2 at The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT), and subsequently worked with them for nine seasons in over a dozen productions, inspiring the next generation of young artists.
TCT selected Maddi to be a member of their traveling cabaret showcase troupe for its inaugural year as well as the remaining four years of the program's existence. The troupe performed in New York City, Chicago, and Cincinnati. In New York, Maddi was Lois Lane in the world premiere of Superman the Musical, which was presented to Charles Strouse and his family for his 90th birthday. They also performed in the world premiere of Parents, a devised piece, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Other favorite roles include Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Heather Chandler in Heathers: the Musical, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Ilse in Spring Awakening, Mary Warren in The Crucible, Julius Caesar in Julius Caesar, Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest, Hawkins in Men on Boats, Usher/God/Understanding in Everybody, Berthe in Boeing Boeing, Paulette in Legally Blonde, Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Piggy in Lord of the Flies, and Marya in Uncle Vanya.
Maddi's acting training includes Linklater, Laban, Viewpoints, and Chekhov techniques. Additionally, they began studying Shakespeare at a young age at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and continued those studies at Baldwin Wallace. He is a classically trained alto vocalist with a strong head voice, mix, and belt. He is also a dancer proficient in jazz, musical theatre, tap, and modern. Most recently, they were a member of the 2023-24 Professional Acting Apprentice company at Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, and is currently the Assistant Stage Manager Apprentice for their 2024-25 season.
Maddi has fostered a love for children and teaching throughout his training as well. They have worked as a teacher, camp counselor, and intern for theatrical summer camps at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati. He realizes the importance of letting children discover what they love at a young age and allowing them to express themselves through art.
Outside of the arts, Maddi enjoys spending time with their incredibly supportive family and friends, finding obscure restaurants with delicious food, thrifting, obsessing over frogs, and watching Bob's Burgers.
